SUMMER MEETING BIG SUCCESS
The Annual Summer initiation, banquet and meeting was held in Birmingham on July 17,2001. There were 62 members and guest present. This year, fifteen individual were inducted into the society. The are: James butler, Mike Cox, Clyde Scarbrough, Ernest Scarbrough, Ruthie Carpenter, Carl McDonald, Calvin King, David Sprayberry, Jimmy Young, Sean Rhodes, Barry Mcnair, John Autrey, Julie Simmons, Maargie Wooten and Jerry Dean. Once again, the Initiation Team did an excellent job of installing the new members and emphasizing the standards of craftsmanships, industry, loyalty, and service. The highlight of the banquet was the motivational address given by J.L. Bailey, pastor of Eastside Baptist church in Jasper. After his inspiring owrds, Nancy Beggs, state director of Career/Technical Education gave us an update on the changes and future plans concerning career/technical education.
Randall Peacock gave the financial statement. He reported that the Epsilon Chapter had a general fund balance of ,295.19 and a scholarship balance of $1,656.59.
James Kendrick announced the scholarsip recipients for 2000-2001. The J.C. Lindley Teacher scholarship was presented to Gene Dudley in the amount of . Gen is seeking a master's degree in administration from Alabama State University. Anthony Cofield received the Ricky Bell Scholarship. Anthony, a graduate of Calhoun County Career/Technical Center plans to attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Major in mechnical engineering. The Bill Provost Scholarship was presented to Stephanie Persell. A graduate of Limestone County Career/Technical Center, Stephanie plans to attend Calhoun Community College and major in physical therapy assistance.

ILS MEMBERS REPRESENT THE EPSILON CHAPTER FOR NATIONAL AWARDS
The following members represented the Epsilon chapter at the ACTE national convention in New Orleans: Joe Heyer, JF Ingram-Retired; Steve Stayeon, JF Ingram-Active; Dr. Judy Landis, Outstanding New Member; Jill Adams, Distinguished Teacher Award; and Bob Kimbrell, Christensen Lifetime Achievement Award.
