DIRECTOR'S.. REPORT
CHARLOTTE HEATHERLY

FALL REPORT
The Executive council met Friday, October 26 at the Lecroy Career Center in Clanton. Included in the business was the calendar for 2001-2002. The adopted calendar is posted on this website and in the ILS newsletter.

The council voted that beginning the year 2002-2003, Epsilon will collect dues and forward them to the Grand chapter. For this year, continue to send dues to the Grand Chapter by way of Anna Skinner. You should have received a membership dues request from Anna in November. Please make sure your dues are kept current.

The mentor program has been revised. The state will divided into regions and one ILS member will serve as a mentor for all new teachers in their respective specialty in that region. The list will be posted in a later newsletter and provided to new teachers during their new teacher orientation. If you are willing to serve as mentor, please contact Randall Peacock.

Debra Holcomb, secretary, is attempting to get Epsilon member information in a new database. We have found sevral addresses are not current. In a future newsletter, the names of members with incorrect addresses will be published. Please look over the names and if you have information on a particular individual, your help would be appresiated.

The membership application is also being revised. We will have the revised form for review at the spring meeting. This year current form will be used. I encourage all members to nominate worthy candidates. One of our 2001-2002 goals is to increase membership. In order to do this, you must do your part to get membership nominaton forms in by the requested deadline.

Epsilon chapter has a strong awards program and I commend the chairpersons for their hard work. To continue this strength we have to have nominees. I encourage all members to make an effort to nominate members deserving of this recognition.
